- Untitled book on communication My Artist Statement: ~Electric communication will never be a substitute for the face of someone who with their soul, encourages another person to be brave and true~ (Charles Dickens) ~The more elaborate our means of communication, the less we communicate~ (Joseph Priestley) Human beings have the most sophisticated means of communication of any species. We have the ability to utilize introspection, retrospection, and prospection to convey our thoughts, feelings, hopes, dreams, and regrets to important others in our lives. This being said, we fail to effectively communicate on a daily basis. When we rely on technology to express our thoughts, we miss out on the opportunity to share our smiles, frowns, eye-gazes, and physical closeness. Intimacy slowly becomes unfamiliarity, solitude and isolation. Face-to-face conversations can be difficult but even at their worst, they possess a unique quality that promotes the openness and understanding that is vital to growth. ~Nicki Ditch
